Welcome to the new look web site!  We have moved the website in order to adopt new technologies and in making the move we have tried to simplify the site and make it more intuitive. Horizon is a model for the future

At the Health Services Journal Awards in November 2010, Horizon was nominated as Best primary Care Organisation of 2010 and received a Special Mention as “the model of GP commissioning that the nation needs to emulate”.  This nomination emphasises that the practices of north Bedfordshire and the staff that make up our organisation, are of the highest quality and achieve a great deal for the population we serve.

Horizon wins Award for Health Checks

Horizon Health Commissioning was awarded an NHS East of England Health and Social Care Award in the category of Improving Lives, Savings Lives.  The award recognises excellence in delivering tangible change to the lives of patients we serve.

The project that led to this prestigious award was the Reaching Out: Health Checks for ‘hard to reach’ communities.  Our local team of clinicians went into our communities, using the Bedfordshire and Luton Fire Service bus, to offer health checks, advice and support to vulnerable and ‘hard to reach’ people. The partnership approach and the proactive nature to reduce health inequalities led to our success.  The panel commended the Horizon team on their innovation and dedication to this necessary cause.  Congratulations to all involved and thank you for the support in making this happen.  John Rooke – Chief Executive Officer
